Na Hyo’s Yaksha: Ruthless Operations is an action-crime-thriller film that packs a punch that leaves viewers reeling. Mostly spy versus spy, there are themes of betrayals and surprising plot twists throughout the two hour movie.
The story of the film follows Ji and his gung-ho young team: Hee-won (Lee El), Jae-gyu (Song Jae-rim), and Jeong-dae (Park Jinyoung, member of GOT7, a boyband) are on the hunt for a man named Moon, who presides over a slush fund for North Korean government. However, the North Korean State Security is searching for Moon, too. As well as the Chinese and the Japanese, who’ve sent a slithery high-ranking spy called Ozawa (Hiroyuki Ikeuchi) to Shenyang with a mind to grab Moon and cancel Ji permanently.
In a flashback reveals just how much violent history Yaksha has with Ozawa and the Japanese.
Han, who still believes he’s searching for localized NIS corruption, becomes increasingly integral to the operations of Ji and his team, and even draws on a few gears he didn’t know he had.

Critics may say that the movie packs a punch without any substance, but I disagree. I found the plot of the movie to be mysterious and unexpected. I do love GOT7, and I was very proud of Park Jin-young on having a role like this and acting in such a moving, amazing way. Actors are crucial to the enjoyment of movies, and I felt the performance of the cast was phenomenal.
Personally, I would rate this movie a 9/10. A point is deducted because the movie ended on a cliffhanger, and I would love for a sequel to be released soon.
